At the d.council meeting on November 29, the main topics were the school’s bell schedule, concerns about long-term FlexTime changes, and a student-raised issue regarding culture changes.

A developed plot, interesting characters, and a good sense of humor. When students were asked about what made them like a T.V. show, the answers were very similar in style. But what shows captured all of these qualities? Well, look no further for a series that will transport you into magical worlds and energizing plots.

On October 21, 2022, ‘Midnights’, the 10th studio album from Taylor Swift, was finally released to the world, and within the first 24 hours, started breaking records left and right.

What’s in the new d.tech lunches? Is there a monster in the slough? And is Joe Schneider’s room haunted? All of these are questions that absolutely everyone is definitely asking, and they are just begging to be answered.

As we all know, there have been many new changes at d.tech; some are liked, some are not. One big switch that has sparked clashing opinions from the community is the new free school lunches that have been implemented into all schools across California.

Language education is a vital part of our schedules. Students either take Spanish with Joe Schneider and Mariela Gonzales-Orta or choose to spend time on a different language outside of school. But around the halls, many people are well-versed at a wide variety of languages from across the world – from Cantonese to Hebrew, Hindi, and many more.

Taylor Swift has been releasing the track names of all of her songs slowly over through the end of November and into October in a Tiktok mini series called “Midnight's Mayhem With Me”.

The electrification of Caltrain, the commuter rail service on the Peninsula, continues to progress. In July, electric trains were tested for clearance on the Caltrain tracks.

The thrilling season of summer break is almost here, and the students at d.tech are excited.

Senior year, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, and sometimes it was just a time. But as the school year comes to an end, the question many of us are left asking is: Where did all the time go? I mean, let’s face the music, however sweet or bitter the sound, it has been anything from ordinary.

Are controlled bathroom visits really helping?

When asked why they came to dtech, students have a range of responses – the design thinking model, the beautiful campus, the flexible schedule, or the accessible teachers and staff. Students, however, don’t mention the order, stringent rules, and structured policies.

The halls are quiet at 3:00 PM on a Wednesday. Yet, in a secluded pocket of the school, Nick Barella and Joe Schneider laugh as they play the Dordle (double wordle).

With the end of the school year nearing, d.tech will be welcoming in new Freshman and the returning students will be one step closer to graduation. But for the current Freshman, that’s one step closer to their visual and performing arts credit, or VAPA classes.

When considering the numerous arguments that are made for and against the implementation of Yondr pouches at our school, we must realize that neither implementation nor non-implementation of Yondr at Design Tech will be a perfect solution to the problem of phone use.

The search for happiness is universal. While d.tech is not designed specifically for the purpose of providing happiness, we know that students perform better when happy, and that learning is stronger when infused with joy. So where, when and how do d.tech students find joy?

When you go to the west side of the building, on the first floor, down the first hallway, you will find drawn blinds and a locked door. Behind that locked door, you might find Paul Cerra, d.tech’s sole IT administrator.
