Last month, d.tech held its first all in-person intersession since COVID began. There were so many options to choose from, and students had a wide variety of experiences.

Junior Soleil Bets-Lecroix chose Outdoor Ed Cabin Leader for her intersession class. She says the experience was “very difficult and new, but rewarding in the end.” She also commented that the kids were difficult at times, but also were very sweet. Bets-Lecroix goes on to say that she “would possibly do it again” now that she understands how it works. Overall, even though there were challenges that were faced, she learned valuable skills at the camp that may prove to be useful later on in life.

Freshman Skylar Peeterson did bug science and meditation for his first ever intersession.  He said that both of his classes were really good and recommended them for others to try out. To sum his experience up, he says “In meditation we got to sleep, and it was really nice. I don’t like bugs, but now I dislike them a little less.” Overall, his outlook on the classes seemed fairly positive.

According to the d.tech community, the first intersession back was a success. The classes were interesting, the internships were eye-opening, and most importantly, the d.tech staff worked so hard to make it possible which definitely paid off.
