The Dragon has an absolutely incredible art department, and they make incredible drawings and photographs for every article we put out, but sometimes those articles can’t be published for any one of a variety of reasons. Here are two incredible works of art created by one of our artists, Cynthia Shi (Class of 2023), that were originally created for articles about Lockers at d.tech and Latinx Heritage Month that were never published.

Unlike traditional high schools, d.tech does not have lockers, as most students only need their chromebook for school. This unique aspect of d.tech is only one of the many differences between this school and other traditional schools

Latinx and Hispanic cultures are a vibrant part of the Bay Area community, and LatinX/Hispanic heritage month is just one great way to celebrate their culture and history. Another great way to celebrate is to learn about common traditions. For example, during celebrations such as the Day of the Dead, a common tradition is to hang up papel picados, which are colorful pieces of thin paper strung together, each with its own elaborate cut-out designs.
